tell me about the 260 rem

It was $460 for a right bolt, left port. he has right bolt, dual ports for $490.

Was he out of right bolt right port? I'm seriously considering calling him up soon and getting one. I've still got my Ruger, I think it'll be able to limp through next Summer - if not I'll resort to the .223 I have that's more than capable. I would use either of them while I build up the 'custom' off the Savage Target action. It'll take me a while to piece it together and make a stock - perfect project for me.

I'll see you out at the club! Thanks

Wayne

Im not sure if he had any right bolt right port, he may getting some in soon. Sence it is a single action i wanted to opperate the bolt with my right hand like normal and be able to catch the brass and drop a bullet in with my left hand. Right bolt left port obviosly ejects to the left but the right bolt dual port only ejects to the right.

Heres the pics. Hopefully i dont get chewed on too much for hijacking the thread :P

one minuite i have to figure out pics..... >:(

Whatever thats my photo bucket it will be the first two pictures. the rest are of a kick ass flying game i play with a couple guys.

Yeah ive been addicted to flight sims sence the first computer my parents got when i was a little kid. Its called Free Falcon 5, the game is free and its awsome. It doesnt take much of a computer to play it ether, just A LOT of different monkeying around with the game files, because it was made by i think 15 or 20 different guys and pieced together.

so how will the recoil of the 260 compare to my 6 br. trying to find a better 1000/600 caliber for my wife and daughters, they dont like the recoil of my 6.5x284 but are fine with the 6 br. maybe something that will be better in wind???

Ok good to get things back on track :P

I just found this also probably the best read ive found about the 260. http://demigodllc.com/articles/the-case-for-260-remington/?p=1

260 would be pretty mild, get a muzzle break and your wife a daughter should love it.

Yes the savage action is beefy, so much so that they took one and machined it down and added a knurled bolt for their 11 lightweight hunter, (specialty series savage site) comes in at 5.5lbs for the complete rifle.

While heavier is better for br work, thats going to be a great little .260 carry rifle. blue
