Target backer home range ideas?

I am planning a home range, rifle, short range centerfire 100 yards. I might want to be able to move my backer/trap, but not absolutely necessary. Range will only be here three years then will be removed, so I do not want to get too labor intensive to build or remove. Wondering if you guys have home ranges and what yours looks like. Photos appreciated. I am considering a bullet trap/AR500 backplate, but if I can build something easy and cheaper...

Mine is a dump truck full of dirt. I drive two posts touching oriented front to back, and slide cardboard between them. Works pretty well.

I built a box and filled it with dirt. It has served me well for ttwo or three years. Good shooting

Thinking outside the box, a short term back stop could be made from a few pallets set on edge, stacked together and filled with dirt or sand. Pallets are usually free and if there is any home construction in your area, talk to the contractors and do some dumpster diving for board scraps to nail them together. Plywood would make a good covering for the front and back to keep the dirt from spilling out as well as to staple targets to.

Big round bales work well too, they last about 2-4 years depending on the weather in your area. Biodegradable.

Big wooden cable reel ends stacked together would also work. Most underground cable contractors or power companies have lots of these and typically will give them away for free. Stacked vertically, they make good deer stands.

A friend of mine stacked a bunch of old tires up and pored sand in them. I think he went 3 rows deep.

There were a lot of trees where I built mine. Three stacks of firewood with a sheet of steel angled downward in back will do the job. Take some care stacking the firewood tightly and nothing will reach the steel plate.

Where are you? This is what we did for our ranch in north TX. If close enough to pick up in Dallas, it may make sense.

I am in NY...a bit far methinks. But I like it! I was thinking smaller, since it would be 100 yards, and maybe slanted a bit more? I had the rail idea for swingers too....just have no idea what a 3'x4' or so AR500 backer with cheaper sides, hanger pipe and bracket for firing strips would run.

I also like the dumptruck idea!

I took down some big oaks and use the trunk of the trees. This works good. I'd use dirt also if needed.

If you have a hay farmer nearby, three bales should cost you around $125 plus the cost of delivery. Of course that depends on where you live.

I use a big pile of dirt... its free to dig out with the tractor a pile up...

Give a call to any pool companies in your area. I was able to get 5 truckloads of clean dirt free by giving a pool company a place they could dump it from their excavating.

I've got many acres more where they came from. Pissed more money then that on the ground back when I was a drinker.

This one is 7ft wide and stands 40" tall. It's $480 + tax for locals or a whole bunch of freight for you...
