Talley lightweight scopemounts?????

According to their website, the ex lows are .350 in height. The lows are .450 in height. The mediums are .550 in height.
Where and how do they get this measurement? I assume it is from the top of the receiver to the bottom of the scope? Correct?

Also, Brownell's list the same scope mounts with different measurements????? Lows are .400. Mediums are .500 etc

Those with the knowledge, PLEASE HELP!

Thanks

I'd call them.
When I need something from them, I just stop by in the course of my travels. All those guys have worked there for years and years, they'll steer ya right.

When dealing with the one-piece Talley Lightweights... in general, go one step "lower" than you would with more conventional base/rings set ups.

If you normally run Mediums in say the Redfield Jr type of set up, go with Low Talleys.

The Talley Mediums are too high for anything I ever use.

For reference, most of my Talley experience is on Rem M700 hunting rifles, but even 44mm objectives clear with ease when mounted in Talley Lows.

One caveat.... their Extra Lows will often cause bolt handle interference, unless you are running a scope with an unusually small rear bell.

I just purchased these mounts from Midway. Purchased the "low" version which is .500 inches in height (bottom of ring to base of mount).

These work fine in my Tikka T3 light with a 4x16, Bushnell 40mm scope.

Best advice, call Talley tell then the rifle and scope and they'll give you the correct infor on which mounts to purchase.
