TackDriver scopes used

I've got filters and modifiers for the Sightron SV ED's and the only thing I've noticed was it reduces the brightness. If it's a bright day, they are useable on max power but the image is duller. Other than that, I see no advantage.View attachment 1602583
What type of filters are those? I get the use of modifier discs/aperture reducers but I'm not sure I'm following why you'd use a neutral density filter on a scope.

you wouldn't, that's why there not on the scope. But we do have a private range out to 1250 yards and it's due west to targets and setting sun late in the day can be a bear. Hence the filter, reduces glare. Better than a sunshade in some conditions.

I didnt shoot last year. This year was earlier and warmer. Was mirage worse this year than last? I think next year will be later and maybe less mirage.
Last year TD4 was kind of ok for me, except the last score relay on the second day, couldn't see a thing.
This TD5 -earlier in the year- was surprisingly better. Not great, but not blinding conditions either. Bullet impacts would come in and out during the worst moments.
Both years I used a NF BR 12-42x56 scope, and 6mm bullets.
I guess it boils down to the pocket of heat you get trapped in for 7 minutes.
