Throughout the years the Desert Sharpshooters have been trying to figure out how to accommodate all that wanted to shoot in the SWN. Being that it is a mixed target rifle (Sling) and F-Class match, many have recommended that the match be split into two matches, one for Sling and one for F-Class. Due to range scheduling conflicts and staffing this has always been an impossible feat.
It has been suggested that since the Desert Sharpshooters are holding the F-Class Nationals and the Southwest Nationals within a span of a few months, this gives the Club the opportunity to separate F-Class and Sling for the SWN. Therefore we are considering using this opportunity to separate the two classes and only allow F-Class in the F-Class Nationals, and Sling in the Southwest Nationals.
Since so many shooters have suggested splitting up the match, the Club feels that this may be the best solution. Thank you everyone that has provided suggestions to the Club on how to accommodate everyone for the SWN.
