SWEET FIND…..

Hunting but not reloading related. Back a few years before there wasnt much interweb, a Cabelas catalogue and a phone call still made buying stuff out of the US cheaper than buying it local here in the Antipodes. And that was with the horrendous frieght charge.
Price gouging pfffhh!! you try and buy from some retailers here (chain store types with bigger purchasing power too) you aint seen nothing till you pay $279 / thou for Rem 9 1/2 magnums or $249 for CCI 400's
Not complaining ( much) just sayin.

Any one use BH209 in their muzzleloader?
2 years ago Walmart sold it for $32 for 10 oz. Saw it the other day at Walmart and it’s now $52 for 8 oz!!! $104 a lb :mad: Hate the crude ring with T7 but guess I’ll live with it

Prices for all of the consumer good will go down if the sales are slow, but the sales are not slow.
Even in this inflated market people buy left and right like everything is on clearance sale. Crazy.

I am pretty sure you don't get to tell me what sport i will enjoy. I had enough sence to buy this stuff when i could afford it. I sent 2000 primers to my mentor early this year and took 2000 more just a few minutes ago. How is it you can predict the future about prices not going down yet you didn't know enough to buy powder and primers when they were cheap? The truth is you don't know any more about whats going on than any of the rest of us.
Enjoy your shooting.

I bought IMR 3031 for $39 in north GA a month ago. 9mm ammo a year and a half ago was .45 plus to day on gundeals they had several brands for .28. 223 ammo was .75 to 1.00 a year and a half ago, today on gundeals .45. guns have come down also.
You let me know when powder comes back down to the pre-Covid prices. Fact is, nobody can say for sure, but I’d be willing to place a wager it will NEVER come down to the pre-Covid prices. I got a good idea Ebb, why don’t you and I just agree to disagree. I haven’t been in the sport that long but I have been buying powder with my dad for 45 years and never once saw the big box stores backtrack on powder prices. I didn’t go to the store to buy the powder, which is why it was a sweet and unexpected find, but if you want to keep raining on my parade with bahhh humbug pre Xmas spirit, then by all means continue to pile on.

Holy hell brother. I feel for you. You kiwi shooters must either be diehards or bank robbers to continue at those prices. Bless you.

I think you have missed my whole point. I totally understand why you bought powder when you did and hate that you had to pay that price for it just to continue your chosen sport. I however think that this is not a coincidence that all of the happened at the time that Reminton stopped production and ATK has a monopoly on the market. I think the people that sell components have all taken advantage of the way things are and done some of this on purpose. Powder may or may not return to the prices it was, most likely higher. but just like the housing mix up we had a few years back, prices eventually fell, they have been back up and are falling again right now. I think there is nothing sweet about you having to pay that much for powder, or UPS and FEDEX not shipping guns, ect, ect. Ammo is coming down, guns are coming down, hopefully primers and powder will also.
