6 Dasher with N135 or N140

I wouldn't rule out N150 either. I have had great results with it in a 6BRA
Rick,
I have read several times that N-150 is very good in a BR and BRA.
I have a BR but it’s a 13 twist varmint rig. I shoot dashers mostly in BR and F-class and use all three (135, 140, 150) in my dashers. What velocity area is the happy place with 150 in a BRA?
I recall @ShootDots also saying that 150 was working well in a BR or BRA with heavies?
Just courious what velocity window was working with 150?

I'm shooting 103's and 108's in my BRA with a 1/8 Kreiger. This particular barrel is different than any other I have had. It took a few hundred rounds to settle down, but is now shooting pretty good. When doing load workup with N150 I went all the way up to 3050fps. There are a few nodes above 3000fps, but I find them to be pretty finicky. When everything is right, they shoot tiny, but as soon as something changes, it's a scatter gun.
Lately I have been playing around 2920 for the 103's and 2950 for the 108's. Seems to be a little more stable.

That is exactly how 150 is in a dasher.

Twitchy and maybe snarky at the upper end for sure.

At mid or particularly the lower end, it is actually much better behaved.

Now that one I don’t have but the Viht powders seem to be some of the easiest powders to locate at the moment, with the exception of the N555 which I’ve been wanting to try in my straight 284 for over a year and I can’t ever find it in stock anywhere.

I also ran 203B with surprisingly great results. Varget was ok but the very next 1LB bottle was 30fps faster. R15 is my go to but it burns dirty as shit. Testing N140 and N135 next Saturday, already loaded the rounds.
Yeah, I went through almost 16 lbs of N203B, I have a bit left. RE-15 did fine, but I was dirtier, or at least it seemed so. I played a bit with Varget, liked it, but couldn’t get more when I needed it.

So, enter N-140, smaller extruded grains, actually it seems to burn cleaner than the others. When I first benched it with 105 Bergers it shot a one hole 5 shot group at 100 yards, thinking “ yeah sure”, I moved to 200 yards and put five in a very small cluster, just over 1/4 MOA. I realize you need many more shots to get a true idea of accuracy, so I repeated another 200 yard group the same as the first. Running out of ammo, it then did very well at a 300 yd, F Class match.
It’s a single base powder, which may save your barrel a bit vs, VV’s 500 series. Good luck with it.

3070fps with RL-15 has been money for me. Shoots tiny and consistent groups and has fired several 600’s at 600 yards (including a 600-46X and a 600-49X). Very accurate and I’ve won with it at 30F and at over 100F. This barrel shooting this load has over 4000 rounds on it now and somehow continues to keep hammering. I am working to develop a load for a new rifle with a dasher barrel on it though.
