"Swampy" has left the range

It is with a heavy heart that I must report that Steve "Swampy" Milholland has left the range. He owned/operated JLK bullets. All that I know is he passed suddenly. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time.

Very sad. My condolences. Years ago, when this site started as 6mmBR.com, "Swampy" was very helpful with our early articles.

It is sad to note his passing. I can only say to all our members -- value every day (and cherish your loved ones), because none of us know how long we have.

Best regards to his family. Talked with him by phone several times and he was very helpful. Was a week or so from reordering some 130 grain 6.5's.

What a shame... Steve picked up where Jimmy Knox left off.

I shot many 6’s both of ‘em made back 10-12 years ago, still have most of a batch of 308 175’s Steve made just after taking over the business. This truly is sad news.

I'm sure sorry to hear this. As mentioned by others, Swampy always answered or called back, and his advice was spot-on. He was a pleasure to deal with, and made superb bullets.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Swampy, but we had several phone conversations discussing jackets and bullet making!

My apologies to all. I meant to post this on my original post and just plain forgot.Steve was always a great source of information to me and in his early day as a bullet maker we conversed a lot in regards to what was working and what wasn't. We are all truly diminished by his passing.
