My latest can went "in process" on 1-16-26. it was approved on 1-28-26. Subtract the 3 day weekend for MLK day, that's a 9 working day turn around time.

Just got a return email from NFA stating that it was approved on the 20th. I called the dealer and he apologized, saying he missed the email that he received. Picking it up today.

I have been wondering how things will go after Jan 1st. Sometime between now and Easter I want to get one for my 300BO's. What is slowing me down is I don't know which one to get. What I want is the absolute quietest and first round pop is a big consideration. I purchased my first one a DA Mask from the local Scheels on a trust which was a total electronic submission and it took almost 15 months to come back. I'm hoping they get tired of spinning their tires for no financial gain and start selling them like handguns. 4473 and local sheriff background check.

ATF site says 6 days, but the thread on Reddit I checked has it at more like 12. I submitted a form 1 to SBR a couple days ago and will follow up with how long it takes

One of two was approved today waiting on the second. Today is day 12. Yes its faster.

Based on my experience, which is approval in 12 days, but no email to show that, I’d either check with the NFA or your FFL. I got mine and I’m happy. Could have been 9 days ago. JMO

Approved 01/26/2026. No emails, in fact my Class III Guy had to inform me of the approvals. Apparently he received the emails.

I've received 6 approvals for customers in the last two weeks, averaging 9 days. In all six of those, the customers did not receive the "approved" emails. They had received the "submitted" emails.

I haven't shot mine much since I've only had it a few days. But I will say that I'm pretty pleased with what I've seen so far. I have 3 suppressors, a Suppressed Armament Systems Sentinel, a Thunderbeast Ultra 7 and now the Dead Air. I have had many people comment on how quiet, and how good, the SAS sounds. The Dead Air has those same sound characteristics with a deeper, more quiet tone. The Thunderbeast has a high pitched crack that I don't care for all that much. I'm pretty sure you would get along with the Dead Air. In other words, let me help you spend your money.
