Suppresser Users

Those of you who use a Bannish suppresser what do you use to keep the end cap from .
locking down so tight. I can barely get mine unscrewed at times. I have used anti-siege,
but still hard to break free. I clean after every 150 to 200 rounds. I have cleaned it using
simple green every time after breaking it free.

I have way more rounds down mine and have never cleaned it yet. The guy who makes the one i have is local. His test one he said had 10k rounds and had not cleaned yet. But my end caps are on way tight after just a few rounds fired.

Probably a burr somewhere. End caps should come in and out freely.

I clean my barrels every time I use them whether it’s 5 or 50 rounds and I think you’re cleaning your suppressor way too much. Once a barrel is plenty in my opinion.

I use the food grade anti-seize ,(the stuff you use for a meat grinder), on the threads of all my suppressors but still had some trouble removing the end caps. If I determine it's time to clean the baffles, I just break the end cap loose while the suppressor is still hot from shooting. The main tube has expanded enough in diameter from the heat to allow it to break free from the end cap. The end cap is no-where near as hot as the main tube and breaks free pretty easy for me. Just remember it is loose and retighten if you decide to shoot some more!

It works for all my suppressor that you can disassemble.

I'm not fan of the Banish end cap tool, though.

More than likely your end cap threads are filling up with fouling from the rounds fired. There's not much you can do about it. Personally, I've never cleaned my center-fire suppressor and I'm guessing it has close to 3,000 rounds thru it so far.

Now my rimfire suppressor is a different story. I try to clean it about every 1,000 rounds and at that time it is filthy and takes forever to clean. I hate cleaning that thing.

Based on my experience, you need to clean your suppressors fairyly often. I thought I was getting mine clean, but then some carbon broke loose, caused a baffle strike, took out the front end of my can. I sent it back and the MFG fixed it, when they sent it back to me, they included some additional carbon chunks they got out of the can. They recommended a ultrasonic cleaner and CLR, ( my can is all Titanium ) so I got a harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner and some powder cleaner there, put can in and do 10 to 20 minutes, take can apart and put back in for some more time until the baffles are looking good, I may have to scrape some off in corners but it comes out pretty decent. Just my experience..

Yes; fill can with solution and cork it, then place in ziplock baggie and run cycle in ultrasonic cleaner. I then drain and fill with fresh water and rebag and run another cycle.
A few fill and rinse by hand then dry in KY’s hot direct sun. Not scientific but effective.

I forgot to note that all of my suppressors are Titanium; 2 of them are monolithic 3-D printed, so no disassembly required. This is the most efficient method for those in particular.

They make a high temp, high pressure spray "grease" that dries. One I have used is made by Wurth. Excellent stuff but not inexpensive. I've used it a long time, thru about 3 name changes. The issue with normal anti sieze is they don't have these properties.
