Super Sniper Scope?

Im looking at purchasing a new scope for my 6br going to a long range picatinny rail. I was checking out he 16x42 supersniper and was wondering if any one had tried one. Info will be greatly appreciated. Other suggestions will be taken in consideration also. Trying to keep price around 400 or less can get the 16x42 super sniper for 299.

I have one and it is not quite up to the task, although a pretty nice scope for the money. You would be much better served by purchasing and using a Weaver T-24 or T-36.

I have all three and I think for F-Class the T-36 is the best.

I second Travelor's thoughts. I have a 20X Super Sniper and a 24X Weave T dot and the Weaver wins hands down on clarity and repeatability. That beng said I still shoot my Super Sniper.

CH, this question has been asked/answered probably a thousand times on various shooting boards. Do yourself a favor, and use the search tools. Google, forum search, they will all yield a ton of info about this and lots of other question. Read, and read some more. 8)

CH - I've owned two of the 16x42 SSs, and was well-served by both of them. I've shot quite a few 600 & 1000yd. any/any matches with them, and still feel they're the best buy in the price range, hands down. OTOH, the two 20x42s I've looked through were notably darker - would not care to use one on a dark, overcast day.

I also have a T-24 on a M52D smallbore rifle, and agree, it's a nice scope for the money. It should stand up well to the mild recoil of a 6BR, so I guess it boils down to personal preference. If it's at all possible, I'd strongly recommend that you ask around to see if you could look through both the SS16x42 & a T-24, and then make your choice.

I have a 16X Super Sniper, I also think it's a good scope for the $$$ but I think the eye relief is a little finicky.

By the way, I saw your gun over on the rimfire page...nice looking rig
