I use a cheap "Beach Umbrella" about the size for folding canvas chairs.
I take off the bottom end and put an adjustable "C" clamp from Home Depot with the handle pointing up on the back of the bench and put the umbrella shaft on the handle along with a bungy cord from the clamp to the underside of the umbrella. Works great on a shooting bench.
