Sun block umbrella

Who sells a sun blocking umbrella for mounting on bench? Phone numbers or e- mails would be appreciated. Thank You Kindly!

Not as convenient, but if you're going to stay in one spot for a while the tarp is great. Not hard to set up and a lot of room (and shade). Might be more effort with just one person, though.

Charles waters is my choice. Like joe said every br shooter that uses one 99% are his.
And itchy if that shakes your bench, your bench is not helping your groups. Most benches across the country wont move with all you can push on em.

Does he have a website or anyone have a picture of his brellas?

Dusty,
Not sure what you mean unless I misread the OP. I was thinking he meant a portable bench, not a competition one. "....if that shakes your bench,....." - were you referring to the tarp with the tables in the picture or the umbrella type? I agree if anything is shaking your bench it won't help groups.

I once worked with a guy who was concerned about skin cancer. He took a regular golf umbrella and sprayed it with silver paint. Looked funny but seemed to work very well for the purpose.

+1 for the one made by Charles Waters...plus he's a GREAT guy to talk to and deal with.

I have emailed Mr. Waters and not heard back as of yet, I am sure he is very busy. In the meantime does anyone have a picture of the brella and a ball park price?

We do ALOT of both ground squirrel and chuck shooting in the warm weather. You may want to consider one of the simple folding sun shades from the box stores, as they can be easily moved to provide shade all day, are light and fold up into a nylon cordura sleeve we had made for them.

They usually run round $75 or so, and I've been using the same Quik-Shade model now since 1998. Melanoma be gone!

Got my Charles Waters Bench Umbrella in the mail today. What a great piece of Kit as the Europeans would say.

E-mailed Charles and got a response almost immediately and a few pictures. It was $75.00 with the shipping.

I looked at the ones at golf stores and on eBay and Amazon and they all seemed to be replacements for beach umbrellas or to cover the user rather than to keep the sun off the barrel / scope objective. If you plan on using an umbrella to cover you and your bench, i.e. to replace a shed roof or tarp, I would not recommend this one, but it is perfect for what I believe it is intended for.

It is in the high 90s here today with no clouds to block the sun, so I may just clamp it to my shoulder (great adjustable clamping system) and use it walking around directly over my head. (Just kidding)

I would recommend this one and Charles to anyone. Anyone know his AccurateShooter user name so I can add a "Positive" to his Trade History.

Bob
