I don't think there is such thing as a bad 6mm cartridge.
I am a little late to the 6mm bandwagon, but I went with the 6 Creedmoor for the following reasons...
1. Already invested in 6.5 Creedmoor tools. Already have the experience with the case.
2. There are 3 great choices for brass, and they are not hard to find. Lapua, Alpha, and Peterson all make brass for it, and it can be had with large or small primers.
3. Factory ammo with good bullets exist. The Hornady stuff is pretty decent, and the Berger ammo I have used is exceptional and comes with the bonus of Lapua brass. Even Federal is loading ammo for it if I recall.
Aside from the above, I think the 6BR or BRA would be badass little rounds for a coyote and deer hunting rifle, but I have no idea if your rifle would feed those rounds well, or if your rifle would require some modifications to work properly.
The same goes for 6.5x47 Lapua, 6x47 Lapua, or 6GT...but then you are looking at limited supplies of brass, and/or wildcatting. 25 Creedmoor might be another sweet spot to explore as well.
My baseline criteria would be a 105 Hybrid around 2950-3200fps in an easy to find load using one of the Hodgon Extreme series powders or one of the newer Alliant branded powders. There are a lot of choices that fit that bill.
