Sturdy Safes?

Anyone have strong feelings (good or bad) about Sturdy Safes? I'm looking at the 36Wx27Dx72H to replace my smaller American Security.

I like that they are made right here in the US, that they don't waste money on advertising (which gets passed along), and that they appear to be very well thought out and built. No frills, just quality from what I can see. But, if someone else had a different experience, I'd like to know about it.

Hi Jay i don't have one yet but that's the safe i will be buying, I've done a lot of looking around and studying all brands and for the money i don't think they can be beat. From what i gather the people there are good honest folks and after studying their safes, and watching their Demo's i don't think you could go wrong also free shipping if i remember correctly, and 7 gauge is a lot of steel. MADE IN USA

I live in Fresno, and have been to their showroom, and although you may find a prettier line of safes, I don't think that you will find a better one. They put the money where it matters most for function.

Awesome. That's exactly what it looked like to me after doing a lot of research. I'm looking for real, functional security, not glossy painted cardboard.

Now all I have to do is decide whether I am going to do a fire-lining or not. I like the fire-lining mostly for humidity control so I don't have to run a de-humidifier in the garage in the PNW. But, I can afford to do other, more security conscious upgrades if I eliminate the fire-lining cost.

I decided to buy once and cry once and stepped up to the 48Wx27Dx72H:

I figured that I outgrew my current safe pretty fast and it's a 30Wx28Wx60H, so a small incremental step would be a waste of time. I decided to add the fireproofing, mostly for the humidity/temperature control. My garage is finished and stays a constant 65º with low humidity, so I figured I could use the fireproofing and forgo the de-humidifier.

Looks like a good buy,until you outgrow it.Seriously I think you did good,but,You have the same restrictions that I have with my Fort Knox. It has fine fire restrictions but NO water blockage.Mine is in the basement,I had it craned down before the first floor was put down.So good luck on finding a proper solution.
