Stuck case help

Well, I finally have a stuck case in a sizing die that pulled out of the shell holder.
I know, not enough case lube, my son wanted to help and learn and I guess the
learning curve started off pretty steep for him. I just appreciate him wanting to
learn instead of playing those dang video games and staying in the house.

Anyhow, my question is what is the best way to remove this stuck case?
I have seen an RCBS set but didn't know if there was something better to use.
Better yet, possibly something I already have in the shop here.

I appreciate the advice!!

I had my first stuck case in 40 years of reloading just a couple of months ago. Same reason, lack of lube on one I missed.

Living in the country a long way from a shop I bought the quickest solution, an RCBS mail order. Worked a treat but if you have the tools, tap, etc I don't see why anyone couldn't make one.

There may be better products.

Thanks Mega, yeah I'm not exactly close to a store either since our sporting goods store closed down several years ago.
I do have some taps and maybe I'll give that a shot.

Back out decap/expander stem as far as possible. Drill out and tap flash hole for machine screw (1/4" works well for most cases). Insert machine screw through a washer and appropriate size socket to pull case from dye.

If you want some dimensions of the holder, tap, allan key and photo of the die holder etc let me know and I'll dig it out.

I don't have a Lathe so that's the only thing that would stop me from making one.

When I do stick a case I drill out the primer pocket so I can run a 1/4x28 tap into it (or whatever fits that you already have) then a 14/28 bolt screwed into it, and then upside down in the press, and a few washers between the top of the press and the die.
Then just back it out....

That works too.

The RCBS Kit uses a #7 Drill and a 1/4" UNC Tap plus Alan Bolt.

I had the same happen a year ago , I met an old timer and he told me to put it in the freezer overnight , for me it worked , worth a try

Mine was a Redding FLS Die .204R, also RCBS Rock Chucker.

The freezer didn't work for me, tried twice. Just pulled more off the case rim.

No problems backing the Decapping Pin / Rod out. Left the locking ring in place so it didn't take much to set the decapping pin back where it was supposed to be.

Quick and simple method.....back the stem up/out, clamp a vice-grip on the base of the case and a tap or 2 with a hammer ON the vice-grip will have it right out...

So with a combo of pliers, hammer, easy out and a crescent wrench I got the case to come out!!
Thanks for all of the suggestions and help this morning, I appreciate it!!
