Cherry Point's in the process of getting 6 squadrons of the F35 Lightnings and doing away with the Harriers thank God. It seems to be a pretty big shell now...

Since they Sundowned the VMAQ and the older VMCJ Squadron that I was in, it has been pretty vacant except for the VMGR guys. They wanted us gone bad. Even tore down the hangar.

I lived 4 miles from the MCAS main gate until '13. Just up 21, near a plantation.

IIRC, due to the proximity of Mt. Mitchell, Asheville has a non standard departure procedure. I got stuck there for two days because I couldn't climb to a specified altitude due to icing conditions.

Ain't That the gospel truth. The dixie chopper motor blew up a few days before we left, After i got back I messed up and grabbed the wrong can an put 4 gallons of diesel fuel in the truck. And the battery died in Cathies Subaru on they way home from her work today. Allegiant emailed to day and wants to know if I want to fly with them soon.

You most certainly have attached the wrong phobia to me. I just know that no matter how bad things are , they can get worse. A close friend told me he was sitting in the U of M oncology unit awaiting radiation for cancer that he looked around and everyone in the waiting room was in worse shape than he was. I can get worse, look in the book of Job and you will see where I found the reference to sitting on an ash heap.

Sorry, I just read a Facebook friend that just had their flight delayed because of not enough crews working. Then cancelled, to then be diverted and when they got to that location got delayed for no crew available. Seems like the country likes the handouts more than employment. All I know is that these businesses better remember the employees they road through these short handed times .
