BRUNSWICK CO. NORTH CAROLINA HIT HARD BY TORNADO

At App. 11:30 P M last nite we were hit by a strong tornado that has left at least 3 dead and 10 or more injured. The tornado touched down into a Community named Ocean Ridge which is app. one and one-half miles from my Lakewood Community. Luckily, it looks as if it may have crossed U S H W 17 at Grissettown and eventually filtered down and never came any closer to us here in Lakewood. It was scary though as we could hear what sounded like a roaring train as it passed. Asking the site to be much in prayer for the loss of lives and injured as we move forward and begin to pull things back together. Thanks guys in advance.

I have gotten a couple of calls to be "on standby for deployment" for that area (I'm an insurance adjuster). Stay safe! Prayers your way.

Prayers up brother, I’ve lived through more twisters than I care to remember living in ground zero my whole life. I’ve lost a few friends over the years, they do more devastation than most realize until they see it first hand. I went through a F4 twice, no thank you!!
If we can do anything to help out let us know buddy,
Their sound is something you will never forget,

Very sorry to hear about this...I know a tornado can be devastating, but at night and probably with out warning the word is deadly. Prayers sent from Md.

Yea, at around midnight and lots of people in bed with no warning at all. I took a ride out to a local farm where I buy my corn for animal feeding and saw two other places where that bad boy crossed the highways and even after what looks to be a stretch of maybe 8 to 10 miles it was twisting power line poles like a tooth pick. I believe I heard some of the news/weather team say it probably was packing winds in excess of 160 MPH.

Speaking of warnings, many people are saying their apps on their phones never went off to give any kind whatsoever to take cover.

Prayers from WI. Praying God will comfort those who have lost love ones and their homes. I know that the community will pull together to help one another and pick up the pieces.
