Stopping moly coating

My 284 shehane barrel copper fouled heavily from its first chambering at 30 inches. I resorted to moly coating to let me get through a days f class shooting without having to clean. However Ive had it rechambered to 29 inches and suddenly its not coppering up anywhere near as much. Im happy enough to not moly coat anymore but trying to get an idea of what sort of charge weight I will have to back off to keep the similar velocity? I know the barrel will need a thorough cleaning and I have already done that- its shiny and ready for naked bullets

This thread was covered a few weeks ago. My advise, read the second to last post (mine)!!!

Experience shared by 4xforfun's link in third post of this thread validates what Jon is recommending to you in his statement above..."start over and work up."

I have been told by a reliable source that some of the better smiths buy 26" to 28" barrels to cut off 4 inches of the muzzle and 4 inches off the chamber end to hopefully get the best section of the barrel doing away with a choked barrel from not lapping the muzzle enough so they sort of miss that area because they don't want the lap to come out of the bore. The same with the chamber end as they usually start the lapping from that end and it usually gets more lapping than is necessary.

This rifle also used to have a barrel block on it, which may have been causing a choking effect when fired and then laying copper down the bore. Its now set on a whidden V block.

Anyway, Im going to drop 1.5gr and work back up from there.
