HBN coating

I have question regarding HBN. I have used both Moly and WS2 in the past and am now getting ready to coat some bullets and a new barrel with HBN. Well, it suddenly occured to me that getting an even coating on the bullets and using my chronograph to judge when I have reached a pressure/velocity drop (which would should correspond to a properly coated barrel) has not been a real problem for me in the past. Also, there are many articles about the application of HBN and cleaning of HBN coated barrels. The question is, how do you know when your getting the HBN coating build-up cleaned out enough? With Moly and WS2 I have learned to judge by the color on the patch. I would imagine a bore scope would also be handy. With HBN that appears to be impossible because of it's transparent nature. Should I just clean until the fowling is gone and not worry about HBN build up in the bore and monitor periodicly with the chronograph? ::)
Any tips, suggestions, or comments would be appreciated. ;D

Your on the right track. theres no need to worry about HBN build up in the barrel. Same as WS2. Moly is the only bullet lube that can constantly build upon itself.
Trying to rid the barrel of HBN is counterproductive. You just need to put it back again so why even attempt to remove it.

Depending on powder used and whether you pretreat the barrel you MAY find the need for brushes is over. Some wet patches and a little soaking MAY suffice in getting the bore clean enough. No quarentees.
