Stolen Bat 6 PPC's from the Phoenix area

This has me thinking, what's the proper course of action if you see a stolen gun? (Especially in this case due to it being easily identifiable)

Call sheriff immediately and inquire to buy it to try to get a name and a phone number?

I'd never leave my guns in any vehicle, I always take them to my room. Vehicles are too easy to get into today , with the lockout service that towtruck guys can get into most any vehicles in a matter of seconds, I learned the hard way , locked my keys in my truck in upstate New York with it running. Guy had it open in 30 seconds.

^^^^^^My point was be optimistic... I wasn't....a couple of great guys in the Seattle area BR community really helped out. One helped by sending a bulletin to NW shooters to be on the look out.
Post bulletins at local ranges maybe...pawn shops probably won't buy a $5K BR rig off of a tweeker.

I am still pissed about this. The orange rifle was originally built for the gunsmith's son, who passed away in 2019. That rifle also brought me back to LR BR after an 11 year gap. It is the first rifle I chambered a barrel for. It is a good shooting rig that deserves to be competing.

At least you got one rifle back. I was in the middle of moving when this happened so I only scammed for results on that issue of the newsletter. Had @newbieshooter not mentioned it I wouldn't have known.

I have never seen any type of competition rifle in a pawn shop.

I think these thieves, and they are stupid and lazy, just steal whatever is easy and then figure out what to do with it later. There can't be much of a black market for BR rifles......
These could end up in a dumpster or ditch.
