stockys aluminum bedding block

i have a friend who is having a 6 mm br mated to a trues rem 700 action( a really old one) that is in a stocky's laminate that has the aluminum bedding gizmo. the action only touches the aluminum along it's sides. can this bedding be filled with bedding compound such that the entire action is in contact with the bedding? if this helps, does drilling thru the aluminum into wood assist in letting the bedding compound adhere to the aluminum or does it adhere to smooth aluminum? thanks.

Many rifles benefit from a skim bedding on aluminum inserts. I personally bed all of my rifles regardless if it has the aluminum insert or not. I rough up the aluminum bedding block then lay in the Devcon bedding. Pay attention and do not crank down the action screws and 'torque' the action in the block. I use smooth bedding pins in the action for alignment and the barrel is centered in the barrel channel so I do not induce any stress while the bedding sets up.

I have bedded the HS precision stock it to has a block, I do it the same as I would any stock . I don't use tape on recoil lug, got to kind of knock it out on something soft, but it will be a nice tight fit.
