Stock that was never deliverd

I ordered a stock from Sharp Shooters Supply in Ohio in July payed for it and the stock was never sent to me. they told me a 4 month lead time witch would be November. I have tried to contact them many times. Was wondering if anybody has used them or know if the guy died or what. I wouldn't care if they just returned my email and said hey I am backed up and you are not beat for your money but they don't even reply back or answer the phone. Mods please move if not in the right forum

They seem to be notorious for this. I suggest you do a search for Sharp Shooters Supply in this forum and I'm sure you will get your fill.

There are many posts similar to yours. Take itchy's advice and you will see how they disservice customers.

Sounds like an ANGIE'S List is in order. Talk to the Forum Boss! You might pay a little more if you went with a reputable dealer but when you get it on time, you would feel better and forget the price.

If you paid a deposit with a credit card....

Call the credit card company. Tell them you put down a deposit (using the credit card) and no product/service was ever delivered. They will/should reverse your charge and go after the business owner.

NO business owner wants to loose their credit card charging ability. That would be the kiss of death for their business.

About 5 years ago, I ordered some new sails for my sailboat. Paid a deposit with my credit card. (it might have even been full amount) Long story short: They never delivered the sails, they stopped returning my emails, wouldn't answer the phone. (I would constantly leave messages.)

So I called the credit card company and explained what happened. They said they'll reverse the charge and they would take it from there. Apparently they opened a can of whoop-asss because I received a phone call from the sail maker a few days later. I said they promised delivery within 6 weeks, it had been over three months and I no longer want their products. Hung up and bought sails somewhere else...a more reputable company.

As evil as credit card companies are...this is one good aspect of them. I've bought a few guns from Buds...Always use a credit card. Even if I have to pay $15 extra. It's like insurance. I've heard Buds can be terrible to deal with if something's wrong. But if you've paid with a CC....you've got some ammo in your corner. (pun intended!)

This is very common with them. Had it happen to me and got most of my money back (all but some small parts think like $40 worth)

email them from another email account telling them you want to place an order and I bet you they respond in less than 24 hours! Then use that email to reply telling them your contacting your C.C. provider then and ONLY then will you get a refund. I honestly don't know how they do anything or haven't been run out of business yet. But I must say all the work I have ever saw that they finished was really good.

I concur and frankly don't understand why people keep letting them get away with this stuff as it's been going on for years. They are simply using customer's money, probably for going to various competitions around the state (that info came from one guy who waited almost two years before seeing his money returned) and take their sweet time in getting the ordered product out, if at all. The aggravation isn't worth how nice the final product may be. Why not contact the Better Business bureau in that state or even the local cops. Seem to me it would be nice to see a list of questionable business practice outfits posted so newbees would have fair warning of less reputable businesses and those to avoid. Hope you get what you paid for or the return of your money. And might I suggest that in the future, you post an inquiry on this blog regarding a business THAT IS NOT A SPONSOR and you've not seen or had conducted business with them in the past.

I had a similar situation with them. I sent an email stating I was going to have my credit card company peruse a refund. She got back to me in a day or so and rushed my stock through. Only took like 2 more months to get it.

call me old and paranoid, or "once bitten", but I research everything before I buy. If you google them, you get thier site and then a string of complaint links. That would turn me off of even contacting them the first time.

Want to see something funny go over to Savage Shooters and post this....it'll last about 10 seconds and you'll be banned for life. Savage Shooters is where I read all the great things about Sharp Shooter Supply so I ordered quite a few things that were time sensitive on my end. Lisa was the sweetest lady laughing and joking and assured me that my factory savage parts would be shipped in three days....it took so long I gave up and purchased them elsewhere and months later they finally showed up. I wrote a post about my experience with Fred and Lisa on Savage Shooters and my account was closed out saying I was being hostile and they take bashing of any company very seriously. What I wrote was my exact experience, not one curse word or embellishment of what happened. If you cannot tell the truth of a bad experience about a company to fellow shooters then Fred and Lisa are in bed with the site somehow....they are. Now on the good side they do put out one great product once you do get it. I think its the unknowing new customer and Lisa's ability to keep the customer at bay for 10 months past the promised delivery date that keeps the place in business....Like the seasoned veterans to the shooting world say.....Welcome to shooting custom guns and the wait that goes with it...

They have had an action of mine since 2009!!

They said they shipped it back to me, couldn't tell me the Shipper or give Tracking info.

I got my money back for the "parts and labor" through my CC but am out the cost of a PTA that they kept or lost.

You don't need to contact them to tell them you're calling the CC company. Just call the CC company.

I've had my 1 time and done with them too!

I had a stock on order from SSS and was way past due. I Actually got Lisa on the phone 1 day and she assured me it was "ready to ship". Well after another good amount of time and no stock I called again and unlike some folks luck she answered again for me. She gave the old "it's on the way" and a bunch of #$%^ why it was late. The very next day there was a post here about somebody not getting their stock from SSS. SSS had used the EXACT same excuses why their stock was not sent also. Kinda funny when SSS has a "stock in the box ready to ship" but they give you your full credit card charge back with no problem. Must have a lot of stocks laying around........never had them to begin with!

Yes, call your CC company! You may have to answer a few questions but should be straight forward.

The Savage Shooter's deal is nothing new either!

I've found similar reports about that company going back at least six years. That's why I try always to remember to Google search "rate xxxxx company name xxxxx" and check BBB files before I even consider their merchandise.

I know this is not going to help much:

But I "personally" met with Fred & Lisa a few weeks ago.

They are alive and well and receive thousands of emails a months. They actually don't have time to answer the phone as nothing gets done in the shop while their on the phone.

I know this is not an excuse, but I believe they are trying to figure something out as they have tons of business. Fred love to work on the guns and products there products.

He is still one of the best and I have hopes of being in the group that might be able to help him and Lisa out.

Only time will tell.

Lots of good people are bad business men (and women).
It's just too bad they have to lie to and BS their customers, rather than just be honest with them.
Hope you're able to help them out.

Time will tell? Its been 6+years of them doing it this way, time tells me they aren't ever changing.

Their inability to realize they need to hire someone to answer the phone and emails is causing irreparable damage to the company's reputation. Resulting in lost sales. (and probably repeated lost sales.)

If they are THAT busy...then they can afford to hire someone.

It sounds like this is a perfect opportunity for someone to open a competing business..and just have better customer service.

Social media has buried this business. They(SSS) are the only ones that have brought this to themselves. The hole is deep with sour complaints from many customers and credit card companies. They have not been pro active or reactive with there thousands of e-mails, complaints, promises, etc. In today's society those actions are not tolerated. Many other companies, and individuals have stepped up to the plate and made Savage goods readily available to us and in a aceptable timely manner.
