Stock Painting

Pm'd option #3. Best option behind option #1 but since the company is not a contributor to the site, I'm not advertising!

How about Hydro dipping the stock, that what I intend to do with this one I am working on. Any advice on this?
Great durable finish for gun stocks. Careful with certain cleaners as they CAN effect the integrity of the dip finish. Other than that, tons of patterns available. Fairly reasonable in price too.

Any recommendation of a place to get Hydrodipping somewhere on the east coast?

Why limit yourself to the east coast? It cost me $29 to ship entire shotgun from Virginia to Washington state with $1000 worth of insurance. Just print your own label from ups website. It's much cheaper then going to the ups store.

Hydrodipped finished are often times clear coated. (Preferably). Gloss, satin, matte. With Automotive clear. If you wouldn't let it get on your car hood, don't get it on your gun. Most petrols will not effect finish

Depends on what finish you want. 90% plus is prep, sanding, and cleaning. I've done some dynamite jobs with plasticoat on factory plastic stocks. Sand, prep, clean, paint, clear coat. Almost any coating will scratch depending on what it encounters.

BUT the really great thing about rattle canning it yourself is you did it. Anything from desert camo to high gloss candy coat.

Your $.
