I'm looking for someone to clear coat a new laminated stock with automotive type finish.
Also looking for someone to paint a composite type stock with automotive type high gloss finsh.

FWIW, another member recently posted pictures of a very nice job he did on his own Benchrest Rifle using "Max 2K Clear Glamour" Spray. The stuff ain't exactly cheap (around $20+ per can) but from the pictures he posted, was well worth it. I just bought a can (will give you 4 coats) off Ebay and am taking a stock of mine down to my Gunsmith today to have sprayed. He's finished raw stocks for me in the past and does a very nice job. Find a Gunsmith who works stocks in your area (have no clue where you are located) and I'm sure he could do the job you seek.

Corpus Christi used to have a huge rifle shooting base.. You might try asking around there if you want to stay local..

He is good at what he does...

The speculation ( read as insider joking/poking) is that he uses rattle cans while standing in buckets of water. "Just getting his feet wet" is how he describes his work. The reality is that he's a High Master of stock finishing. It would be hard to find some one better.

If you have not found any takers yet, I have had real good luck with spray polyurethane. After sanding, and about 6-9 coats, it gets real shiny.

I am just getting my feet wet, too. Only been doing this about 10 years or so, but I am NOT in the business. And I've been saying that for quite some time as well.

And I'm in Texas as well.
