My Predator action will arrive this week, .308 boltface.

I want to build a 1000 yard gun and I'm wondering which caliber I should choose.

I have 3 new krieger barrels, all HV contour.
.30cal 10 twist
6mm 8 twist
6mm 13.5 twist.

I was thinking about 6xc or Dasher but I will consider other calibers.

As for a stock I am thinking about GRS long range or some F-class stock, not sure but I guess it depends on the caliber I'll choose, the GRS stock is great for hunting as well as target practise.

Those that shoot 1000yards please advice what to do

Just to plant a seed be thinking 30/284 for that 30 caliber barrel. I shoot 600 yds and the Dasher for the 6mm is the only way to fly! I did win a first place at Hawks Ridge NC their last IBS match with my 6 Dasher.

I already got .300 WinMag and 6BR in 13.5 twist

The .30 cal will probably end up as .308 or 30BR

There is a competition here restricted to .308 and 6.5x55. And only Norma Diamondline bullets, wouldn't mind winning that one next year :)

So what would I gain fom the 6brx?

I already have 6br and 0.100 increased headspace isn't much difference from the original.

With the 6brx I have to fireform cases and get cusom dies.. All I see is extra cost..

How much more accurate is the BRX @ 1000 yards compared to thr BR ?
