STIK5 Rods

I just wanted to reach out to all my shooting friends. Those that are close know that after 33 years of flying, I got my wings clipped in Feb of this year when doctors had to repair couple bad valves in my heart. While recovering and trying to figure out which direction life was taking me, I started helping one of my very, very close friends with a fishing rod company that he was trying to get off the ground. Fishing is a passion that he and I shared together for years now. One reason I've not shot much over past 5-6 years is because fishing has become my passion as well. It was Gentry's life long dream to start his own company and build a 100% AMERICAN MADE, high quality, premium fishing rod at a price most people can afford. May 18th, Gentry suffered a massive heart attack and passed away leaving Stik5 Rods in my hands. I've invested tons of time and a bunch of money into Stik5 Rods for couple reasons - I know my best friend would want to see his dream become a reality, and I owe it to him to ensure his family has future income.

So if any of you guys/gals love to fish as much as much as you love to shoot, please take a look at our rods at www.stik5rods.com. Each purpose built rod was tested, tested and retested in the design stages to insure that they were spot on for their intended purposes. Using our proprietary carbon blend, each blank is cut, rolled, trued, sanded, and strenght tested. We use high end Fuji eye's and reels seats, Winn grips and AA cork handles. These rods are 100% built here in Arkansas, 100% American made products.

If you fish, take at look at our rods - I know you'll like them!

Thanks

I'm not a fisherman , but my Son and Grand-daughter are . They live over in Gulfport , and I'll pass the website and info to him .

Appreciate the info. Big bass guy myself. Always looking for rods that exceed my expectations but stay within my budget. 400-500 isn't that rod. I've found rods half as much that equaled the high dollar in strength, sensitivity and quality. Price doesn't dictate which rod is best as it may in other products. One thing I'd like to see on there website is more specs on there rods. Line wt, lure wt, tip speed, one piece/two piece(although most top end rods are one piece). A little more info would help for ordering. I'll email them for additional info. Thanks again. John.

I looked at the web site and see these are between $2-300, I paid more than that for graphite rods 15 years ago.

The casting sticks are $240.

I agree about needing more specs on the builds.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll do my best to get some of this info added...Gentry didn't want to get into adding some of this info to a rod as he always felt doing so kind of limits the rod. Most all our rods are purposes built. Example - Texas Rig/Jig rod - its a medium heavy rod with a fast tip. It perfect for 1/4-1oz weight lures..

At this time, all our rods are 1-piece rods....currently working on a crappie rod which may end up being two piece..

I have built rods in the past mainly using St Croix blanks, made in Minnesota, but I always thought Fuji rod components were made in Japan. No matter where Fuji guides are made I have always thought they were the best on the market.

Do you do a drop shot rod?

Also would love to try out a one piece crappie rod set up to shoot docks.
