Thinking about getting one of the .22LR versions, as have had two of the original ones in the past. Anyone have any experience with these? All I see for sale are the .22WMR and .17 HDY.

I've seen photos of the new Zephyr II - very attractive rifle. It's great that CZ, Steyr, & Tikka have all come out with 22RF sporters that are of such high quality - even though Tikka apparently traded classy walnut stocks for uniformly excellent accuracy.

February Guns&Ammo, page 72 has a great picture of this new rifle, what a stunner. For a grand, I dont think there is anything close to it. Another I have got to have it, on my short list. Carl in Yakima

Yes I saw the article and that sparked my interest. Have had several Anschutz 54 sporters and MSR’s but this is less than half the price. Worth a try.

I have some projects to finish, and then on to a Steyr, it looks like a lot of gun for the money.

I have been doing the same thing you are doing, and I have found the same thing, no 22lr. We are 6 months to a year to soon, but I will keeping looking anyway.

Thought I had snagged one but after a week dealer said he made a mistake due to inventory error and refunded my money. Guess I will wait until I see a lot of them for sale. Until then my CZ Scout will do as it shoots bug holes at 50 with Wolf Match Extra. 1/4” or less on quiet day if I do my part.

Thanks for the heads up, I've stop looking my self, I am going to do the same thing. Let the sellers look for a buyer, instead of what I usually do, run around shaking hundred dollar bills in the air until some one sells me what I am looking for, for 30 or 40 percent more than you would pay 6 months down the road. That trigger guard almost makes me wonder if the design team spent their budget on the rest of the rifle, and didn't have any $$$ left to come up with bottom metal that would go well with the rest of the features of what would otherwise be one of the most stunning 22RF sporters I've seen in a very long time. Is it just me, or is what CZ did with the trigger guard on their new 457s a major improvement in the appearance of these rifles?

I just got one in a 17hmr. Looks great. I don’t mind the looks of the trigger gaurd.
Really like how it shoots .4 inch 5 shot groups at a hundred yards.

I am happy for you, its neat when things work out the way you planed. I would like to see what you think of it after you break it in. Carl in Yakima

Very late in following up on this. Got the rifle (.22Lr)and loved the stock design and workmanship. Did not like the cock on close so much, or lack of being able to tune the trigger to my liking. In shooting at 50yds, with a variety of good ammo, I was not impressed. My CZ 455 Scout was far better, as was the trigger options. Certainly a nice sporter for it's intended use. I sold it as I picked up a Anschutz 1700 FWT Sporter that shoots really good under 3/4" 100yds with Midas, and 1/4-3/8" 50yds. with several ammo types.
My original Steyr Zephyr's from the 1960's shot better and were much classier, but they are collector items now. My 2 cents.
