Stevens 44 front globe inserts

Does anyone know if the small lyman inserts fit the early Stevens front globe?
Or a lead on Stevens inserts? .400" inside front globe.

Thankyou

Depends on the sight, a photo would help.
Many of the sights on the stevens rifles were Lyman so there’s a good chance it will. If it’s the type where part of the sight tube unscrews and an insert is round with two tab that are held right by the screw down then yes. All the other styles have a thicker insert and held in by a clip or spring hold down. Those inserts style are available a couple different places, but you need to double them up or add a shim.

Yes
This is original 1890s Stevens globe with clip.
Without knocking it off, I didn't know if I can swap to a larger later lyman or Redfield base.

No reason to, the Stevens/winchester card will work, but double up the inserts. I generally use the crosshair insert and one of the crosshair with open ring.

The inserts do come up for sale often just have to keep regular watch. Lee Shaver and Montana vintage both make sights that will fit the dovetail, just need to confirm the size.

Here is a source for original thickness inserts. Been awhile, but I’d be surprised if he quit making them

Need to get it out shooting and off the wall.

Thanks for info.
Off the wall?
Lol
I don't collect.
I compete.
And can't get real serious with the only current front insert I have.
We shoot in evenings into the dark outside and a larger globe inserts considered to gain field of view thu the site so not to shoot at the wrong target or the same on twice lol
