Sterling Davenport custom rifles

A close friend passed away recently here in Tucson and several of his friends and I have been helping his widow identify and sell some of his firearms.

Sterling Davenport was a respected rifle maker, living in Tucson, and crafted some of my friend's rifles. Sterling passed away some time ago.

We are trying to locate someone who is familiar with Sterling's handiwork to help us confirm that several of the rifles the widow has were indeed made by Sterling. She wants to keep the rifles that Sterling made as they were special to her husband.

Any help out there?

Some gun makers sign the stocks they make.
The barreled action needs to be removed from the stock.
The barreled channel are sometimes signed.

Do a search, multiple items out there. He is very well respected in the high end custom rifle World.

Sterling was an early idol of mine, an amazing craftsman. Hopefully he signed his work somewhere, but many smiths just don't think to do that sort of thing.
Barrel channel or under a buttplate would be best guesses.

Sterling’s name is engraved on the top of the barrel just forward of the scope on the rifle he built for me.

He marked all of his rifles UNLESS they were built for Rigby but those were all marked from Rigby Factory. Ive owned several of his rifle builds in various calibers from different eras of his career and they have been marked. If its not marked as such than they are not his builds.
In fact it would have been illegal for him not to mark his builds with his info! LOL!
