STEADY PLACE FOR MY SCALE

I just got a new Fx120i--I swear that scale will weigh an ant! But my deck top was not stable enough--I would lean on the desk and the scale would move--So..I had this old cast iron industrial stand--cleaned it up and made a custom top for it to hold my scale right beside my loading table--It weighs a ton and is Rock Solid! The scale is happy now--I bet that stand was made in the 1900's now coupled with the latest tech--pretty cool

I have levels on mine also ,but a line level is not accurate, must be placed in exact center of line otherwise an inaccurate tool

I got myself a piece of leftover counter top stone from a local place and built a bench around it to match the dimensions. It’s 43x23 and 1 1/4 inches thick. The stone has to be 120 pounds give or take. Solid setup.

Great job re-purposing. It's all about what works for YOU.

Yea it sits right beside my chair at my desk--is working Great! I I spent all day getting it positioned dead level --it is solid cast iron and now the scale is steady as can be--I like the stone top idea but used what I had--ideal? Maybe not but it is working out great.
FWIW Starrett the micrometer company makes a very small machinist level you can grab for low $ They are handy in this sport and very high quality--Tons better than the china stuff

I built a wall shelf above my reloading bench for my scale, can run the press and not shake the scale. Works well and is out if the way.

It looks like it isn’t level. It is critical for a scale to be level in order to function properly.

^^^^^ THIS is exactly what I did and my scale is rock solid now.

Guys it is a photo--yea it may not LOOK level but that is why they have a little bubble level on the scale and adjustable feet--get the bubble in the circle and it will work per the folks that sell them
but I do appreciate the info and tips I think the perspective of the photo may be throwing you off
