Precision reloading scale cabinet or enclosure / wind block

Dave M.

F-Open Class shooter (284 win, 6dasher, 6.5-7PRCW)
Looking to better isolate and light up my reloading scale. Currently, using the V3 autothrow/autotrickler setup with the A&D fx120i.
Hoping to get some ideas from the team here. This scale never moves from my reloading room in the basement and I truly don’t have to worry about it being portable. I’d like to isolate any wind currents from the sides and top, as well as add some sort of quartz/marble plate with isolation feet for the scale to set on.
I know we have some great minds out there that have thought this through even more than I have. I’m thinking of a box made from cabinets grade birch veneer plywood. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s setup.

Check out the “Dog house “ Bart has on his website.

I use one in my basement setup,……. And it does go to the range with me when I feel the need. Tough as nails and very handy.

My beam balance is mounted on a shelve, at eye level, on a glass plate. I believe the eye level location is critical for accurate reading of the balance. The glass plate provides a stable surface.

No sure anything more elaborate is necessary for an indoor, non-portable set up. I don't experience any "wind currents" in the room that affect the use of the balance.

This simple plex-i-glass shield works well when the A C or fan is on.

Just a random thought, might want to look at 3d printer enclosures. Seems like they would do the trick. Plenty of plans online and plenty of pre built solutions.
