Static in Harrels drop tube

Just got a Harrells premium powder measure and am wondering what others do to minimize the static in the drop tube when you drop a charge into a scale pan (metal) to weigh for final trickle? There is always a few kernels of powder that bounce out of the pan if I don't hold the drop tube really close or on the pan. This seems to make a few kernels hang up on the inside of the drop tube near the bottom. Would a dryer sheet rubbed on the inside of the tube be a problem? I was using a spray paint can cover to drop the charges last night to eliminate the kernels bouncing out and than pouring into the pan on my FX-120i, but that is a PITA if you are loading for a 2 day match or weekend of p-dog shooting.

Try dropping the powder directly into the case and then from the case into the scale pan. It is more accurate, much cleaner and in the end it takes no more time.

Once the tube's picked up a coating of graphite from the powder you're loading, static won't be a problem anymore. Dryer sheet will help until then, as may the unrinsed soap & water bath.

I too recommend (and use myself) an empty, primed case as a receptical into which to dump each throw, that then ges transferred for weighing to my scale pan. Much better control this way and as I use an Omega trickler it fits my workflow best.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I did the soap method and loaded 25 rounds last night. It seemed to work really well. Another lesson learned from all the wisdom and experience on this forum!
