Drop tubes

I never personally go more than 30.5 grains of VV133 in my PPC. I use a short tube that I ran a tap through. I do have to drop it very slow.
Butch,
Is your tube one of the regular ones that Harrell's sells? Is it the smaller or larger ID? What tap did you use? Do the threads cause the powder to swirl as it drops? With the weight that you are able to get in a case, what you are doing is obviously working.

Boyd, Watching the Indy 500. I don't know the brand. It has about a .220 ID and used a 1/4X20 tap. I ran my reamer into the botom enough to clear the neck. The drop tube is pre Harrell.

Somewhere years ago i saw cast acrylic tube that had acme threads inside. Cant remember what it was for but wanted to get some for this. Then i figured a thread that rough would hold powder so i had lynwood send me a regular stick and i made a 14” one (thats how high i could put the measure up above the table on the stand) and with a slow fill i can put too much 133 in a ppc case. I think the one i usually use now is about 8” and with my technique i dont crunch powder at the stiff loads i shoot.

I just ordered a used extension tap off of Ebay in that size x 5 1/2 long, for $12 delivered.

For some reason when I bought the majority of my machine tools all the tooling came with it. Beside the large Huot cabinets having number, letters, metric, and fractional drills, I also have taps from 2-56 to over 1" in NF and NC threads. Same with reamers. Some of the drills and taps are extra long.
