I've got new barrels I will be sending out to have chambered shortly. I would like to supply dummy rounds for getting the depth set correctly.
My assumption here is as short as makes sense, so the bullet can be continually seated out further as erosion progresses.
Is the ideal starting spot near the end of the bearing surface of the longest bullets being used?
I realize the number is different pending bullet, brand, shape etc.
Just curious if folks have a preferred starting length.
Bullets could be 150 SMK, 147 ELDM, 143 ELDX, 142 SMK or 140 ELDM.
Primarily match guns, but never know when I might be inclined to lay them across the hood of the truck...
