StarShooter African padouk, Kelbly, March, Bartlein FTR setup

so here is my first post on this incredible forum that I've been learning sooooo much in the past few years. This year was my second year shooting at a 1000yds and manage to find a spot on Team Canada for FCWC at Raton. Here is the rifle that brought me there:

StarShooter ultimate FTR African padouk stock reinforced with carbon fiber
Kelbly Panda F-Class action RB-LP
March 8x80x56 c/w Kelbly rings
Bartlein 1:11, 34in heavy palma barrel
StarShooter CF-SS light weight bipod (23.2oz), custom bench feet installed presently

total weight of the rifle is just 1oz under with a 24oz flat brass adjustable piece at the back

Being unfamilar with rifle weight in this class,what does it weigh.

18 pounds - 1 once c/w bipod

the last piece that was put on the rifle was the flat "guide" to ride the bag which was made out of available weight left. It was modeled in 3D then machine afterwards.

That is one really well thought out rifle/stock combo. And it doesn't look half bad either

it was shooting great until the barrel got exhausted ))

use to shoot 1/4moa for 15 shots, 200gr Hybrid at 2770fps

yeah, Jonathan's ammo is very fast, but shoots VERY well.

i need to provide a very strong effort (mentally) to be able to achieve such precision as the rifle is way better than me. I manage to make it twice (1/4moa for 15) by taking my time between shots. Dont want to overheat the barrel, specially that skinny !

i know Terry very well and sure he must have laugh at this one. Here were the component:

Lapua Brass (neck turned at 0.0125)
F205M primers
Berger 200gr Hybrid (throat to 3.100)
Varget (wont specify load for security...but a lot)
load was jam 0.20

lat year i had really good success with N150, no secret here just want to share

The reason for choosing african padouk is that the weight of the wood is the same as maple but 45% more rigid. Here is a link where we can look at different wood specifications:

I would have thought that maple would have been a better choice for you. It would serve two purposes; rifle stock and maple sap producer in the off season.

you are putting your finger wright on a problem that is still not fixed...but will be soon. The rifle been coated with a urethane car clear and looks outstanding in some part but there is bublesss in some other. As StarShooter is always behind is product, he will re-clear the rifle this winter with a different procedure that for now, I don't know of (need to talk to him).
