Sportsmans Warehouse "In Store Pick-up"

I have used this service to order mainly primers or powder that is unavailable in my area, but shows as available on Sportsman's web-site.
Just find it on their site as if you were gonna order it delivered, and click the "Store Pickup" command and it will show up, usually within a week with no shipping or Hazmat charge.

I haven't tried to get a firearm this way, but I assumes it would work the same. jd

I ordered a bunch of primers using that before 2020 price hikes.

We have a Scheels now but I wish we had a Sportsman store
I've been in the Scheel's stores in Montana, the staff in the gun and fly fishing department were so much more knowledgeable than the clerks I've dealt with at Sportsman's Warehouse. They were older and had first hand experience, what I look for in a retail clerk. In the Great Falls store a very knowledgeable clerk explained the difference of 2 models of Swarovski 10X42 binoculars, spending quite a bit of time with us. Two of us had the Swarovski glasses, on the way back we stopped again, and Bill bought a pair. I always stop at Scheel's and spend a few bucks.

I have ordered a rifle and had it sent to the local store last year.
Also did the same with some rifle ammo , ever try to find 17 Hornet local ?
Have used this service at Bass Pro also.
Saves a bunch on shipping and Hazmat fees .
They have started the same BS that cabelas started with the take a # and stand in line cr*p at the gun counter.
Was just last week noticed all the ammo is behind the counter now so you have to stand in line just to grab a box of ammo.
Not a good way to keep the customer coming back ,I know I am probably done with them.

I just posted this for other troglodytes like me who might not be aware of this method of getting stuff -- at least if you have a branch of one of these monster franchises near ya.

I live about 20 miles from a town which has a Sportsmans, but that store isn't exactly a Mecca for reloading supplies. This "store pickup" thing is a real game changer for me. jd

Oh, I like Scheels. Just like Sportsman's prices.

I've ordered several guns and had them shipped to my local store. Saves a lot of time and expense. I'm surprised to hear there is no hazmat fee for powder and primers; I was told there is.

I’ll just add another caveat to this is price matching. Stores like scheels set allot of there prices at manufacturers suggested price but you can get it at competitors prices with a little online searching. Last time I had to arm wrestle them but I won. It’s good to shop around sometimes it’s still cheaper to pay hazmat. I pretty much only use ShootingBot for components.

I was just at a Sportsmans a week ago, and their primer prices were basically the same as if you ordered from Powder Valley and paid the Hazmat.
$10/100 at cheapest in store
