speer plastic bullets

Hi, I have a question about speer plastic bullets. I purchased 38 cal plastic bullets from Midway, these bullets have a hole in one end and the other end is solid. Which end goes in the case? Also can a small pistol primer be used in the plastic case or must you use a large pistol primer? I am new to using these plastic bullets but I do reload 38 special 40 cal. Any help you can offer me is appreciated.

Thank You

Don't underestimate the power of these things. I have some of these and loaned them to a buddy of mine several years back. They were down in his dad's basement shooting them into a home made bullet trap. They missed the trap one time and hit a kitchen stove/range set up in the finished basement, and put a big noticeable dent in it.

I had a 45acp that used 209 primers and wax bullets. I think it would be a close in man stopper. Very accurate. Perk

OK your advice will be adhered to.

Used some of these for a 44 years back. I believe that you could also drill out the flash hole to eliminate the primer push in wheel guns. The primer push would not allow the cylinder to advance.

For what it worth.

I have used a 6 cavity Lee 9mm mold to cast glue bullets with a hot glue gun. These are quite durable, and are a lot of fun from a short barreled firearm I did stick one in a 4" S&W 357 barrel- wasn't any problem to get out though.

If you are using the plastic cases from Speer the flash holes are ready to go. If you decide to use brass cases, as mgunderson mentioned, flash holes need to be enlarged to prevent the primers from backing out on ignition.
