Spare Panda SA-what to build?

Help me decide please..

I have the following calibres in the safe:
22-250 for warthogs and varmint
6.5cm for medium game and steel to 1200m
300wm for bigger game(use to be my 1mile rifle but its at 1000rounds so it will now only be used as
a hunting rifle).

With the spare action I have narrowed my options down to the following...

1st option- another 308Ftr back-up rifle
Just started competing...and think it will be a good thing if I have a backup.
Leaning towards this one,but not sure if it is necessary

2nd option- 7Saum,300wsm for steel to a mile
Want something to play with when Comps are over or with friends.

All opinions will be appreciated..

Thanks

You’re asking for opinions, so here’s mine. Try a 6br. It’s highly underrated or even unknown in the general public shooting circles. It’s my favorite “fun” cartridge. It’ll shoot to 1000. You could have another barrel spun up in 308 and just use it for competition.

If I had a panda in my safe I would turn it into a Palma rifle. 308, sling, and iron sights. However, This will probably dip into your FTR time since you will typically shoot either sling or f-class at the same match.

Good luck with your choice

I absolutely love the mentioned 223 and 308 because I’ve personally been having accuracy from bulk cheap brass and bullets I would have never expected. That said the 30br for playing at my local range out to 300 yards has me excited for now. They have an info page right on here that will tell you all about it

If you’ve never owned a 6br that would be my choice, you can hit the ground running with common loads found on this site, it’s accurate, easy to tune and shoot, low recoil, high round count on Barrel and competitive..

The size of the bolt face would narrow it down somewhat from the calibers that were named. Unless you have multiple bolts for it, then the sky's the limit.
I hope this helps,

Lloyd

I built an 8 twist and wound up using it for live varmint, deer, occasional G-Hog match and just shooting staples out of friends targets:)
