Source for vials

Necropost revival. I just tried this for the first time. One of the few things that worked better than expected!

Finished off an odd 1# of Varget for my 6.5x47. After charging the 80 pieces of brass, I put the rest in vials. I see lots of ways to use these. Mainly when traveling and doing load development. I hate weighing powder & traveling with my scale.

That’s neat that the blue ribbon funnel drops down in the vial.

Yep. I tried the grey one first, but it required 2 hands and wasn’t a good fit. Lost a few kernels. Blue Ribbon was perfect. The vials are 1/2” OD, so a 33/64” drill did the trick for the block. Goes pretty fast with only 2 holes.

Good information. Do you have a link for the vials you use? Thanks.

I don’t have a link, but I got them at discountviles.com. I bought 250 (a lot more than I need) for a price break, free shipping, or something.

These hold about 110 grains of N570 or 120 of H1000. More capacity than I need.

Pics attached.

If the ones listed in this thread are working good do yourself a favor and go with one of the vendors listed. A couple of years ago I was placing an Amazon order and figured I also add some glass vials to my order, I ordered 100, when they came in a quarter of them were broken and when I picked one up I could see why, the glass was so thin you could breath on them and they would break. Completely useless and such a mess I just threw them away without trying to return them, micro pieces of glass everywhere.

Since then I use screw top plastic tubes that are sold for powder charges for Muzzle loaders. I get them from PITTMAN Bullets, they work great, different sizes, and different color lids available which helps out to keep different charges organized. They sell extra lids in colors also, they also have the vial with a case for sale for a decent price and they will last forever. Just scroll down on the page listed and it's all listed there, and the owner and his bullets are top notch.

Looking for a good source for small vials ! Flat Bottom screw type tops for small powder charges, someone had a source with Webb address but can't find it . E-Bay is full of them but like to hear s input from some users, this one had a a tray they carried them in but that's not important. 40 grain would be sufficient Thanks Tim !
If you have any prescriptions, these will work.
