I know it is SO easy to bad mouth Sharp Shooters Supply, but
I have built two bench rest Savage Action rifles, a 6BRX and a 284 WIN heavy gun.
The light gun is their Dog Tracker and the Heavy gun is the Tracker. They both were processed and pillar bedded and skim bedded with glass by me as well as final finishing. All went together easily and quickly.
I have had very little waiting from them. My policy is to phone them and talk to Lisa and try to be nice to her as she IS a nice person. Don't forget, if you make a big thing of a problem and don't consider their problems and act friendly, most folks respond in like fashion. I am not a very lucky person so my happiness with them cannot be luck!! Lisa always informs me of their stock situation and backed up work load. If I am sending a gun or rifle to be worked on, they let me know when they are ready and then I ship it out. Now that they don't sell barrels anymore, I have my new barrel sent to them to minimize me not having my stuff to use in the mean time.
I have also used some local gun smiths with very good luck, but now my go-to smith is SSS! And they
are somewhat better priced. And he does EXCELLENT work to the extent he has made a couple dodgy sourced barrels shoot really good.
So, just be patient and be nice to Lisa and she will be nice to you!
