sorting cases by velocity?

There was a past video of Lou Merdicka (SP?) he shot the same case in his tunnel. loaded and shot the same case 5 times. ES if I remember was like 2 FPS.
Can you get 5-10-20 cases that all shoot the same vel?

I salute your attitude. It is so rare that anybody wonders WHY..
Shoot more, or measure more.

Again, I am new FClass and LR Benchrest so I am doing both but an emphasis on shooting. When I am shooting I am mainly focusing on wind calling and perfecting my set up and shooting technique so I am repeating it every time. While I am burning up a barrel I figured I could do some testing as well.

Below is a scatter chart from today. Weighed brass, grouped into groups of 0.1 grains. Small sampling. Interesting in that some of the weight outliers wouldn't be culled by using velocity. Going to pick 20 and see how consistent, as a group, they remain on future firings.

p.s. if anyone knows how to embed the chart in the post vs. attaching as a file feel free to send me a PM

You’re well into diminishing returns when you start looking at this. I would start with something simple like sorting cases by weight or volume. Isolating variables makes science a whole lot easier.

While I don't disagree, I think I finally got the powder, bullet, and neck tension down I'd figure I start testing to see what might be something worth doing or not.

For example:
Weighing primers - next decent test day I get I have 10 rounds loaded at each extreme and I plan to shoot them 1000 yards.
Weighing cases vs. velocity sorting - shot some loads today
Consistent primer crush - haven't figured out how to do this yet.
