At the range today tuning up my Tikka Lite, 223 Rem. This is one of my favorite rifles, a super accurate hunting rifle, light weight, and totally reliable.
First range trip out of the safe this year as I start transitioning from my spring / summer varmint to my fall / winter shooting program. I had to change powders due to my dwindling supply of my go to H4895 powder, so I put together a load with Varget. Thanks to a little help from my friends on this forum, I got some Hornady load data for their 60Vmax which this 8" twist rifle just loves.
Anyway, to the point! I hate load development and shooting off the bench so much plus it was such a beautiful day here, I said, what the heck, and just shot off my cross sticks which is my vastly preferred way of range shooting. Wow! Double Wow! The Varget load, maybe not so surprising, shot to the same point of impact as my H4895 load and the accuracy was "dead predator" level and then some even with the breezing conditions at the range.
