I would NEVER talk someone out of a new shooten iron,don"t matter what it is!!
Tod,
Look at the Hornady 6.5 PRC. Fit's your action w/o opening up the feed rails for the bigger cases.
150 Sierra's in mine stay super sonic to 1950.
150 SMK's at 3025 in my PRC.Just checking my shooter app.....the 140 Hybrid at 3400 goes subsonic at 1850. What do you shoot at 3000 ish that stays SS past 1900??
@4xforfun
While I've read the "hype" about bullet transition through transonic to subsonic, myself have never shot any bullet that I could see was effected by it. Have shot many types of bullets out to 1-mile that were subsonic long before they got to the target, that yielded sub-1MOA accuracy and printed nice round symmetrical holes.
Another example; some of the longest military sniper kills, the bullets were subsonic.
Maybe just me, but I do not see the need to fuse over it like some do. And have seen how "speed" can deplete accuracy often enough at basically any distance. Will agree we need adequate ballistics to make the trip for ELR, but I won't concern myself at all if the bullet is at subsonic speeds getting there.
Just my 2-Cents

No, same diameter as any "regular" magnum case is at the belt, .532".Wouldn't that have the same body as a Rum, WSM or Nostler case?
@4xforfun
Who in there right mind would want or need a 6.5-300 Weatherby. You don’t need that. No one would need that.
That’s about the best I can do. So, when are you getting it?
Yeah, you'll be chasing the throat almost as fast as the speed of light in a 6.5 Weatherby.
Plus bullets will come apart when the barrel gets all cracked which won't be long.
6.5 Saum, it's fast enough and with a 7.5 twist and 147's it ought to do fine in the wind and get decent barrel life with H1000 at 55,000 psi.
28 Nosler won't get great barrel life but a .8BC bullet at 3000 fps won't be no slouch.
