some h335 did not light?

i'm shooting a new 22 BR 14 twist kreiger using 52 gr fowlers and testing various powders. tried h335 and shot a light load and it went BANG. 0.2 gr more and NOTHING, but the sound of the firing pin.. thought i must have omitted the primer, so i extracted the case and , of course, powder was everywhere. the bullet was lodged and i had a cleaning rod...tapped bullet out. cleaned receiver and tried next load...hang fire and muzzle velocities were 3600,3700 and 3800! primers are cci 450, action stiller predator. other powders lit nicely. temp was 55+. ball powder is harder to light but this is ridiculous. does h335 have such a history or is my batch bad...it is 10 yrs old but looks and smells ok. thanks.

Are you sure that either the primers or powder didnt get real damp?I have shot h335 for many years and have never had a problem lighting it with any primer I tried.

+1 - Sounds like powder has deteriorated for some reason.

Did you tumble your brass and maybe have media in the flashhole? I now inspect each piece of brass after tumbling as media does stick in the flash holes. Just a suggestion.
