Social Credit System-- We all are in alot of trouble.

For years, cops in the USA drive around in cars with plate readers that image and ID anything that puts you on the radar..........what's your point.
FYI your facebook acct puts you in about as much risk.

Ever see the movie Demolition Man? Westley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock (1993) action movie set in the future where just cursing earned you a demerit, cameras watched everything, Oh, and Taco Bell won the fast food wars and owned all the restaurants.

I drove one of those cars, grabbing plates.

Sad reality is the system was so screwed up (thank God for inept govnt) the data was basically useless and was hardly ever to be found when you needed it.

In london england every move you make outdoors is on video and they have facial recognition software so that if theyre looking for somebody a camera will catch you somewhere in the city and alert them- kinda like the way the plate reader program was supposed to work

i thought of that movie when i first saw the information about this

I don't think you understand what this is about. This is not about your credit rating. This is about monitoring and controlling the behavior of the citizens. The Chinese government has social criterion that have nothing to do with credit. This is about the Chinese government developing a dossier on everyone. The threat to your credit rating is just one of the sticks.

Also, it cannot be beat if you leave your residence. There are cameras everywhere. Every city street, bus stations, airports, shopping malls, subway stations. There are cameras on most main streets in town, one very few kilometers on main streets, and all highways, that take a picture of the occupants of the front seat of the vehicle. They flash with every car that passes if it is not daylight.

They track debit and debit card transaction. Social media postings. Facebook is blocked in China but there is a instant communication ap that is pretty much universal, WeChat. It was developed by the Chinese government. They can analyze every word posted.

The internet browser that works in China is Baidu. The Chinese government took Foxfire and revamped it. They can monitor every search word you enter.

I lived in China for a year and saw all of these things.

Restricting your ability to borrow, to rent an apartment or travel is the threat the government uses to keep citizens in line.
thanks for posting this. I dont think alot of people really are grasping the implications of this.

Well around here, law enforcement has invested in computing power, they grap people like there's no tomorrow, while I'm no big fan of the surveilance, several major criminals have been grabbed here with this system, now used by police, county sherrifs, and some state troopers.
In the hood, you cant't go a block without a telephone pole mounted camera.

How about a demerit for being against abortion? Or owning a gun? Or being Christian? Or voting "wrong"?

Happens every day. Just follow twitter where twitter stoning is a common form of self-righteous discipline

Facebook too, especially on the FB news stories. There was a shooting the other day, not a one comment offering compassion, condolences, etc.. It's anti gun, pro 2nd, or political division, line is drawn, you want to straighten some clowns out, then it dawns on you pissing into the backside of a 747 engine ready to take off wont end well and you move on.

Getting philosophical, I must comment that it appears that when a human elects to chose a lower form of truth than God, (relativism) the first symptom is a rush to self-righteousness, exhibited by a majority vote on "we need to all be on the same side". Then it turns into eliminating the other side.

I AM NOT saying you did that Milo...I am agreeing with your observation of human behavior.

I am content to know that I am desperately broken and in need of mercy, but my mercy is freely provided in grace I didn't deserve, and still don't.

Kinda helps me to speak truth freely, but not stone anyone (unless they trying to kill me, but you get my point)

I'm surely not going to deny it, lol
Truth, we all do it to some extent, start with who we surround ourselves with, most of our friends share the same thought patterns, ideals, goals, ideologies, etc... Yes, we can interact, and probably really well with others sharing opposite views, but when we lay down at night, at least in my head I'm right.

I sort of doubt that China can monitor its people that well. Their are too many of them an much of the country still takes a dump out doors. I once took a back road to the Terra Cotta Army near Xian.
None of the rural houses had electrical service lines. The heat for the homes came from coal piles dumped at road intersections.
No one had AC. Everyone drank bottled water because tap water is unsafe. Few people outside of the large cities owns a car. Everyone rides a bike. The standard far tractor and pickup is what looks like a 40 year old Gravely garden tractor grafted to a 2 wheel cart to make an articulated steering one man truck.
Monitoring would be hard as they all look alike....lol
