Snowed IN -- Time to Clean the Guns

When the weather turns bad you get your guns cleaned up and your rest

We have missed the snow but it is cold. Getting stir crazy, loaded a bunch of ammo, refinished a target stock, cleaned guns, rearranged shelves. Need to go shooting. Warmed up today to 5deg. Lol

Iced in here in the mountains of South Carolina. cleaning guns, tumbling brass, de rusted a body die...........................

Slept till noon. Ate fried potatoes and had a coffee. Watched church on streaming. Will start roast at 4PM. JoshB said one of my guns was dusty. (How'd he know?) I wiped it off. Next up, maybe a nap. I needed this break in a big way.

I am absolutely sure i have barrels that need to be cleaned ! Nasty here and high of 21 and calling for freezing rain to start shortly after inch of sleet. Still have power and have gen backup but still dread the mess coming. I do still work 3 days a week and you know mon Tue is two of them. But too much banked time off so i took Thur as PTO for all of Jan Feb but still stressed about having to go mon Tue. State hasn’t touched the roads and understandably. Wife says a sad a man that can’t work 3 days a week and true but she works from home !! I used to get a little excited about driving into work picking up a couple coworkers otw but not so much anymore ! I dread this mess and cleaning a few barrels and oiling gives a distraction for time being. Filling bird feeders and Loading wood in water stove and fireplace insert is not enough so it just adds to something to pass time away while it’s nasty. The weather makes me want to retire but that would make me more lazy than i am now ! Stay safe and warm

I enjoyed the snow day and so did the dogs. I’ll clear the driveway and sidewalks tomorrow.

Completely disassembled and reassembled a Savage MKII 22lr that needed a deep cleaning between snow clearing excursions.

Overall, a productive day.

No Snow just COLD ! Early AM, watched Church, on TV,..
Made Pancakes, Sausage and Egg's then, Cleaned New Tikka, .22-250 ( Trying for, a GOOD Barrel break in ) then watched, the First Playoff Game and will Be watching, the 2 nd one,.. any Minute, Now,.... BYE !
Sunny and 40's next week ,. that's Shootin' weather, Here !

I don’t know who Ben is, or why you guys are shooting at him, I’m sure you have a reason, not judging.

Glad you are enjoying the 3 months of the year where you can be outdoors and not in the a/c.

It doesn’t suck to have winter. Metro areas suck. Year round.

I agree about metro areas . Phoenix is nothing like when I came here forty-six years ago . It's turned into everything I left behind . Grew up in the "Snowbelt region" on the east side of Cleveland , and if I never see another snowflake , I couldn't be happier . Winter is ANYTHING below 70 degrees and sunshine !

For a moment I thought that read a Ruger MK2. I just was gonna ask how many contortions you did upside down to get that thing together again....but I see now it was a Savage.

I love it then . I came here to ride motorcycle year round , and Skydive . Worked on Staff at Coolidge ; Skydive Arizona for three years , till I had a industrial accident , and broke my neck . No more jumping !
Haven't missed a 600 Practice at BA in eight years . Especially when it's Summer and Hot . All the wimps stay home then .

Snowing a bunch here in Pa. too. Snow has slowed but now mixed with freezing rain. Will wait till tomorrow to plow and clean up outside after everything’s gone!
So today I relaxed a little, cooked some eggs and venison bacon for breakfast, and then deprimed, sized, and cleaned 400 pcs of 6br brass. And now re-binge watching some Better Call Saul! Not a bad day after all

As D-4297 states, I wouldn’t miss it if it never snowed here again.
I, too, cleaned a couple of PCCs, loaded some ammo and sorted/tumbled a few batches of OFB .45 ACP for the next project.
I guess we will know how long Winter will last in about 8 days.
I’m over it!
