I'm probably going to place an order but some times I don't have enough rail to install that rear piece.

Can I suggest you print some "D" shaped pieces that can be ziptied in front of the front ring. Maybe have it open like a "C" so the ziptie is what the shield hooks on and maybe a "<" shaped piece for behind the front ring so the ziptie is tightened in a pretty natural shape.

I think that would be a bit more universal.
