Was wondering if any members on this forum have any experience with these rifles or thoughts on them? I myself have been quite fond of em over the years. Ive seen some of these that just had absolutely gorgeous stocks on them. I have found them to be excellent quality for a general hunting rifle. Rugged reliable w excellent bluing. I have seen many of them reasonably priced also. Kind of a sleeper if you ask me. Thoughts?

Some of the first Howa 1500 imports. Buddy has one from late 70's, nice wood and bluing but about 2 moa in 30-06.

Howa was not the only manufacturer of S&W bolt action rifles, Husqavarna also made them.
Either way both were fine examples of a hunting bolt gun.

I have a S&W Model 1500 chambered in the 25/06 Rem. Purchased in about 1984. Great rifle a tad on the heavy side and slightly under MOA.
