Smallbore F Class and the NRA

The immediate reason is because f-sbr is growing from sling smallbore and they're well established at 50 and 100.
Apparently there was a historical period where 200yd smallbore was relatively common but they moved away from it.
I would guess range availability is part of it.

The official f-sbr targets are the 50yd,50m, and 100yd international/metric targets. There is a 200 yd target in that series but I think it is very rare in the US. Most of the 200 yd rimfire shoots I've heard of use something more common. We considered the a25 smallbore 100yd conventional target and some others for today's match but ended up using the mr52 centerfire 200yd reduced prone target. Seemed to be a decent choice, top 3 scores were 295,294,294. I had the 295 :):):)

This reply from kzin is spot on!!

Maybe , once SB F Class matures a bit we can ask for our version of a Long Range Match (200 Yards ). ;)

As noted in a prior post, F-SBR has grown in conjunction with small bore prone sling matches. One of the main issues with having a 200 yard stage is finding 200 yard ranges that are able to also be readily used for 50 and 100 meter targets along w/ a suitable number of firing points. In addition, it may also require a second set of frames just for 200 yards due to target size, however there may be some work arounds.

ASSA has received a lot of positive feedback from our National F-SBR match we conducted in July at The Cardinal Center in Marengo, OH. For 2019, we have already increased the course of fire to four (4) full days and we are always open to additional feedback from the competitors.

My poor little savage mark ii sure isnt on par with all the equipment i see in those photos, even after it gets back from the smith its not going to be a anschutz or 40×. But hey im having a blast any way. If i wanted to come to your match, im not terribly far away being outside Terre Haute Indiana, how many days to just come shoot the f class single event. Cant really afford more than a overnight just cause of work.

The 'event' is 4 days times 160 shots per day.
To me that much shooting and that much time expended is a turn off but I guess it's traditional and an attraction for some.

I believe one can pick one day and shoot and see their name in the results for that day but the championship is the aggregate.

I'm looking forward to hearing how well your rifle turns out.

Don't let the absence of a $1,000 SB Rifle prevent you from competing.

Last year I went to the ASSA Nationals with my CZ 455 and a $125 BSA Scope from Amazon. I didn't win,but I learn a ton of "Stuff".

Shoot what you have!!!

Remember, what a High Master once told me:

"It's the Indian not the arrow that wins the day.

By the time i get it back it will almost be a 1k sb rifle. Hows that old saying go buy once cry once, yeah im not good enough at that.

Those thinking that you're not good enough. .you can't if you don't try. These matches are very well run. Everyone will help you with how they're run. They are a lot of fun!! Maybe 4 days is a stretch for some ... so just shoot a couple days. Shooting in a match and just shooting for practice are completely different. Once you figure out the process of a match it's such a blast to shoot. As far as 200 yds...not enough ranges have that capability. It's hard enough keeping 10 shots under an inch at 100 yards multiple times
Shoot a match with what you have.

If anyone here's ANYTHING about the meeting or actual rule changes it would be appreciated !
Thanks again

Other than that...get out and shoot a match when able☺

Is there something you are expecting to be said or done. We have "provisional" rules and even national competitions. Nra classification is done. I guess i just dont understand what you are looking for. Im really trying not be offensive so please dont take it that way, im just looking to understand.

Since it's still provisional there's no National records. I know about the classifications, I did achieve Master Smallbore F Class this year. Until it's a recognized discipline there won't be any National records.
